Port Aransas is the location for your perfect beachfront vacation. Enjoy world-class fishing, or just relaxing along the beach. Whether you want blue marlin, sailfish, red fish, snapper, tuna or trout, the fishing guides know "where they're biting," and will show you a day of fun and excitement Port Aransas fishing. There are several boats you can take out for deep sea fishing or you can fish from the pier, jetty, or beach.

You'll find numerous bird watching sites including the Birding Center, Wetlands Park and Paradise Pond, all part of the Great Texas Birding Trail and home to hundreds of permanent and migrating birds, reptiles and some mammals. The Birding Center & Wetlands Park features a boardwalk with a two-story observation tower for fantastic views of the wetlands, a butterfly garden and native plant garden. You'll also enjoy Paradise Pond, a freshwater pond attracting a number of migratory bird species. The hugely successful Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail winds through 43 Texas counties, encompassing the entire Texas coastal region. Completed in April 2000, the Trail features 308 distinct wildlife-viewing sites.

There are many charters available in the area for watching dolphins in the area or you may often see them from the ship channel ferry, the park along the channel or on the jetty.

Just a short drive from Port Aransas, Padre Island National Seashore is the longest section of undeveloped barrier island in the world, stretching over 130,454 acres. Located on North Padre Island, just south of Port Aransas, this area is full of great outdoor activities. Visitors to Padre Island National Seashore enjoy bird watching, boating, camping and horseback riding on the beach and water activities, including scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming and windsurfing.

If golf is your game, check out New Port Dunes Golf Club, Port Aransas' new championship links course. Designed by Arnold Palmer and managed by Kemper Sports, New Port Dunes Golf Course is open for public play.

After enjoying the beach and leisurely soaking up some sun, fishing or a game of golf, you may want to get out and about. You'll find plenty of shops and restaurants, so you can take your time shopping and sampling the local fare. Enjoy some wonderful seafood at one of our many restaurants. Island time is never rushed. Just a ferry ride and short drive away is Corpus Christi with more shops and restaurants, the Texas State Aquarium and The Lexington Air Craft Carrier Museum.
